Northwood skiers, Kristen McDonough '13 and Hannah Feinberg '13 placed 6th and 7th respectively in the Hovey Memorial Race on Saturday, January 9th at Whiteface Mountain. The race is named for Bill Hovey, a local civic leader who tragically died in an automobile accident in 1962. A group of Bill's friends decided the best way to honor the seasoned skier was to hold a race in his name, an the race has been taking place ever since. The race is well known over New York State where 200 skiers participated and of the 200, 25 are local athletes. Northwood School students participate in the Hovey each year.
