The Chris Ferrier Memorial Trophy

The following is a letter from the friends of Chris Ferrier '00.
Dear Alumni:
This past October, Northwood graduate and Marine Sergeant Christopher David Ferrier, age 25, passed away in a traffic accident in his hometown of Huntington, NY. Chris graduated from Northwood School in 2000 and was a Sergeant with the Weapons Company 2nd Battalion 25th Marines out of Garden City, NY. Chris served one tour in Iraq, receiving the Combat Action Ribbon and Presidential Unit Citation in 2003 for his distinguished service in Nassariyah, Iraq. Following his return home, he graduated from C.W. Post in May of 2007 with a BFA in Film.
Chris is loved and will be missed by his family and many friends. In tribute to his life, his outstanding service to his country, and his friendship to all of us – parents, classmates, hockey teammates, and staff – we have received permission from Mr. Good and Northwood School to have a memorial trophy given each year at The Northwood School Invitational Tournament in honor of Chris. The trophy is to be given to the annual tournament winner and a picture of Chris will be featured in the tournament program.
As Chris was committed to his loved ones and his country, we are committed to honoring his life and sustaining his memory. We therefore ask you to contribute to The Chris Ferrier Memorial Trophy Fund and assist the Northwood Community in raising money to endow the Chris Ferrier Memorial Trophy, thereby allowing us to honor our deserving friend.
