Boston Beer Works

Thursday, December 06, 2007

The Boston Beer Works was the place to be last Thursday night when Northwood School alumni from all over Boston gathered for a reception. Director of Advancement Perry Babcock, Director of Admissions Tim Weaver and his wife Katie represented the school and entertained 25 alumni and friends of Northwood.

Tony Pell '56 commented that the event had ”a lot of young people,” but Tony and Bill Stewart '69 found out that there was plenty to talk about with a group representing many of the best area colleges and universities. Leigh Dean '95 arrived with his wife, Beth, and Kristin Kortz '95 and her husband had lots to share with Leigh and Jason Lumsden '96. Brendan York '93 was disappointed not to see his buddy Bergie, but vowed to rally the Boston boys from the early 90's for another day. Larry Kennedy '76 spent a lot of time discussing Jesuit programs with Andrew Simmons '05 who attends Boston College. Kate McCahill '02 works in Boston for a housing authority and often sees Rachel Levitz '02. Kate and Rachel were excited to see classmate Mike Hayes'02 who works as a recruiter in the IT industry. Ryan '99 and Sean Ferguson '02 showed up as did Chris Selkirk '99 and Andrea Holderied '99. Steve Fiorella ‘05 and Ian Simmons 05 seemed to know their way around the Beer Works and were last seen discussing the finer points of college life with Phil Schachenmayr '07.

After some group photos and thanks from Perry Babcock the older alumni departed and the younger folks decided to “hang around for a while.” All agreed the event was a big success and hoped for more Northwood visits to Boston in the future.  Click here to view some event photos.
