| Great start for Andrew Weibrecht '03 ! Andrew Weibrecht '03 was the top American in the Lake Louise World Cup DH placing 12th, and 12th again in the SG the following day. If Andrew Weibrecht did not save the day it would have been exceptionally dark in the American camp. Andrew got a little bit of good light and took advantage of it gunning it into 12th place. Congrats to him. It is the fourth time Andrew has been in the top 12 of a World Cup race in nine scoring races.

| Seeking Snow This summer, a group of enthusiastic Northwood students ventured to Chile for two weeks of ski training. Danny Blake ‘11, Leigh Anne Connors ‘10, Jimmy Fordyce ‘10, Kalen Griffin ‘12, Kerri McDonough ‘12, and Katie Madden ‘11 along with NYSEF coaches Dennis Murray and Ikou Toishi spent two weeks training at Valle Nevado, a ski resort located outside of Santiago, Chile. While in Chile, they had great weather; blue skies, lots of sun and 7 feet of fresh snow! The overwhelming amount of powder meant that students were able to rent skis especially made to use on slopes filled with powder-like snow. During the day, students trained GS and Super G and at night they were able to meet many locals and even practice speaking in Espanol! It took the group two hours to trek up to the beautiful mountain where they trained. It was a windy, one-way road up to Valle Nevado. According to Leigh Anne Connors ‘10, "it took 40 switchbacks to get up to the mountain!”
When asked what the highlight of the trip was Kalen Griffin ‘12 exclaimed, "getting off the lift, turning around, seeing the sunrise and all of the snow-covered mountains.”
