Welcome to the Northwood School Library and Media Center
We are a full service facility providing students and faculty with access to the latest technology and information. With over 6,500 books and 500 educational DVD’s and videotapes the library is the center of research activities for the school. Students can access the internet on their laptops through our wireless service or utilize our land line computers and connect to the most up to date electronic databases such as JSTOR and Encyclopedia Britannica. We currently subscribe to fourteen educational on-line resources. Of course, the reference section of the library is home to a wide array of encyclopedias, atlases, almanacs and government publications relevant to the school’s curriculum.

| But the library is more than a research facility. It is a quiet and comfortable setting where students can find current magazines, newspapers and reading material as well as a large collection of fiction and non-fiction related to life in the Adirondack Park. Our full time librarian is available to assist students with research strategies. In addition, our faculty will convene classes in the library and meet with individual students for extra help sessions.
Decorated with current student art work, the library is considered by most members of the community to be the best place to curl up with a good book, enjoy the views of Cobble Mountain, or just relax away from the hustle and bustle of school life.
For more information about our library, please contact Juli Jakub at 518-523-3357 x 219 or email jakubj@northwoodschool.com. Or better yet stop by anytime during library hours.
